Hire a romcom author, panellist and host for your next event
I’m Jasmine Burke, a Black Caribbean-British author of two Kindle bestselling romantic comedies, Quarter-Love Crisis and Around the World in 80 Dates. I speak on panels, chair conversations and host events for literary festivals, bookshops, book clubs, schools, workplaces and brands, in London, across the UK and online.

Why festivals, bookshops and brands book me
A Black British voice in romance
As a Caribbean-British author, I write joyful, funny love stories and talk openly about representation in publishing: who gets to be the heroine, who gets published and how we make books feel like they’re for everyone. A natural fit for Black History Month, diversity panels and any line-up that wants more than one kind of story.
I know publishing from both sides
Alongside my books, I work full-time in PR and marketing, and I’m Festival Marketing Director for the Free Books Festival. I can talk craft, but I can also talk marketing, author platforms and what it actually takes to get a book noticed.
Events people remember
I don’t just sit on panels. I’ve hosted an Around the World in 80 Dates speed dating event at Free Books Fest and a book keyring-making evening at Main Character Books. If you want a format with a twist, I’ll help you build it.
An audience that turns up
24.7K followers across Instagram, TikTok and X, mostly women aged 25 to 44 in the UK and US. Every booking includes a post to my followers promoting your event.
From blogger to author
I started Jas Writes Stuff at university in 2016, long before the book deal. I can speak to aspiring writers, students and creators about building something from scratch while holding down a day job.
Opening doors for new writers
I’m involved in mentoring initiatives supporting aspiring writers and I’m passionate about making publishing more accessible, so I’m right at home at community and early-career events.
Expect honesty, a few overshares and a room full of people who leave wanting to read (and write) more.
