Every time I say that I’m going to bring my blog back and get back to regular posts like before, something happens and I end up disappearing for months. So, let’s make this simple. Let’s catch up on Sundays, starting with where I’ve been, what’s happening next and what’s going on with the book.
The last couple of years have been, in short, incredibly hectic. I got signed to a literary agent, began writing a brand new book, documented it all on a new TikTok account, quit my job, moved to Lisbon, came back, started a new job… And most of that was just over last summer.
The more time I’ve had to look back on the last few years, the more I can slot them into the (admittedly quite dark) places they belong. 2022, in essence, was a low low year for me, featuring far more sadness than happiness. This ultimately led to 2023 being a year of knocking things down and rebuilding. I made big changes, took big leaps, and really focused on my own wants and needs. Now, coming out of that darkness fully in 2024, I’m ready to think about what life looks like next.
I have spent the first three months of 2024 laying the groundwork for the rest of the year. I want to post on here weekly, really put my all into my social media channels, and pour wholeheartedly into my passions and my relationships.
One of the biggest takeaways I’ve had from the last couple of years is that the older you get the more exhausting everything becomes. I am trying to move more consciously with that in mind, and be incredibly mindful of where I place my energy. This blog has been with me for over 7 years (!!) now and I am not ready to let it go. Right now it’s use it or lose it, so I’m bringing it back, hopefully in its best and truest form yet.

It occurs to me that I haven’t given an update since I first announced I was writing it. I poured my heart and soul and the odd tear into it and learnt a lot about myself as I explored the book concepts. I finished the first concrete draft at the end of my time in Lisbon last year, and have since been going back and forth with my agent refining it ever since. I hope to have a bigger update soon, but for now I am so proud of how far it’s come.
This book has become so special to me over the last couple of years, and I cannot wait for it to see the world. I will talk about it more as soon as I can, and give this site the update it properly deserves.
Join me on Sundays, and kick off the slowest day of the week with a nice little read. I’ll be covering everything from travel, to writing, to entertainment, to fashion, to little ramblings about my life and my thoughts. I have the next couple of months entirely blocked out, and so many ideas of what’s to follow.
Let’s catch up on Sundays… Comment below what you’ve been up to too, I’m nosy.
Lots of love,
Jas xx
