You can take the girl out of Uni, but you apparently can’t stop her talking about student life. However, I feel like having endured the experience for three years, I’m allowed to come back and talk about it and pretend that I’m wise. Therefore, that’s what we’re going to talk about today. Here’s a post all about how to kit out your student flat, make your flatmates happy, and act boujee without paying boujee prices.
If your answer is “No I haven’t heard of them” then I feel you. I hadn’t either until I started working with them on this post, and honestly, I wish I’d known about them sooner. Their website is filled with all the normal stationery, mugs and desk accessories that you’d expect to see. However, they steal your heart with all the different, out of the box things that you wouldn’t really expect to kit out your student flat with, all priced in accordance with student life.
Whilst exploring their website, I was taken aback with the slushie makers and £10 popcorn makers and honestly didn’t know where to start. However, I had a good browse (Which I strongly recommend), evaluated what would bring me the most joy, and ordered some items to try for myself. Because it all seemed too good to be true.
I will admit, I may have gone a little extreme with the kitchen appliances. But in my defence, if you’re going to charge £10 for a high-quality kitchen appliance, then I’m going to go all out. Below I’ve detailed what I got and how I think it would make you stand out in a student flat, but I also want to clarify that these are great for students and non-students alike. Anyone who appreciates a good bargain can benefit.
Imagine, you’ve been out drinking all week, lectures are starting to get hard, and someone in your student flat suggests a chill night in. “I have a fondue set” you interject. They’re wowed and all stare at you in awe, excited at the prospect of melted cheese or chocolate. You have established yourself as the superior flatmate. All is right in the world.
I tested this one out with my sister and it was honestly the easiest thing in the world to work. Plug it in, switch it on, chuck some chocolate chunks in the middle (We literally bought a 50p bar from Sainsbury’s) and let the fondue party start. Also, once the chocolate has melted, you can switch the button from “melt” to “warm”, so your fondue stays perfectly melted.
Who can say no to pancakes? Nobody, that’s who. Then, imagine that you whack out your crepe maker on a Saturday morning and your flatmates are awoken to a make your own crepe party. “Am I living with a Michelin star chef?” They ask. The answer is no – they are simply living with someone that was smart enough to invest in a super cheap crepe maker (currently marked at £10!).
I tried this over the weekend, and it’s fun once you get the hang of it. I recommend you all have a go… That way you get to bond over the inevitable struggle that you’ll have at the beginning.
Popcorn is already an elite snack, but fresh popcorn? Unbeatable. Though microwave popcorn is a nice alternative, it doesn’t quite beat the freshest of the fresh, and this machine honestly makes it so easy to make. Whack in some (super cheap in supermarkets) kernels with the measuring spoon, switch it on, and it takes around 3 minutes! It’s quick, requires minimal cleaning and you have the freshest kind of popcorn. What could go wrong?
Yes, you should be all about sharing with your student flat, but what about you? You deserve something that is purely yours. I recommend the peg board for all your cute bedroom needs. It comes with tonnes of letters, numbers and symbols so you can leave yourself messages to your hearts content and also leave your room with a cute aesthetic.
Want to win your own popcorn maker, fondue maker and pegboard? Well, the good news for you is that me and Yes I Want It are teaming up on a giveaway!

A rivalry as old as time… The Hating Game meets Honey and Spice in this sizzling, hilarious and utterly relatable rivals-to-lovers workplace rom-com about surviving – and maybe even thriving – in your twenties.
These are so cute and would be so fun for uni! I admit I’m out of uni now but I’m an au pair in Paris and used to be a youth worker! The popcorn machine is perfect for the teenagers I work with now but I really wanna go back and visit my old youth group in London and make fondue for them! I miss them so much so this would be perfect! ?? if I’d of known this site when I was at uni I definitely would’ve gone overboard
You should definitely check it out! xx
I feel like we’re all a whole lot more wiser when we’re out of school, my university years are best described as attempted juggling gone wrong but now that I’m out of school it’s like here is how to juggle™ hahaha. I haven’t heard of them but I have to say ‘Yes I Want It’ is the perfect name for a company, even better to hear that their prices are friendly! The Fondue set yessss, all I’m thinking about is dunking strawberries in life is complete. That’s great that here’s a switch from melt to warm, me as I speak from experience of over-melting my chocolate over the stove and it being in larger chunks rip chocolate I couldn’t save haha.
A crepe maker!! That would have been such a game changer for breakfast while I was a student, I was either trying to figure out a new way to make oatmeal, having sunny side up every other day, or a few pancake days thrown in some days hahaha. The best part is when getting something new is the struggle of trying to get everything going A+ and then my siblings saying ‘let me do it’ haha, fun but stressful.
That is the cutest lil popcorn maker, I saw it on your story as it was just popping hahahaha. WAIT THREE MINUTES THAT’S IT. I am sold. I’ve always wanted a peg board to decorate, especially with so much inspiration on Pinterest for quotes to put on them!!
YAY GIVEAWAY – I would love love love the fondue set to have a bit more fun with my fruit, strawberries are bae but put strawberries with chocolate and that right there is a new level of strawberry unlocked! The crepe maker would make me feel like a lil chef who knows all about the crepe life and would really add some fun to my breakfast routine and be a light alternative to pancakes. I would love the popcorn machine because as someone who is currently binging a show on Netflix, having a cute lil popcorn machine that gets popcorn ready in the same amount of time as the intro is A NEEED.
I’ve just signed up to receive blog updates via email just now – fingers crossed!! 🙂
Woooooow this comment is actually everything. Thank you so much and good luck with the giveaway! xx
