I’m back! I’d ask you if you missed me, but honestly, I doubt you noticed I was gone… The truth is, even when I’m “not around” I post far more than I should. However, the point is that I’ve finished Uni, I’m back for good, and things are about to change around here…
For the first time since starting this blog, I don’t have to balance it with Uni. For the near future at least, I can pump the majority of my brain power and “study energy” into this, one of my biggest passion projects. I have been planning content for months in-between revision breaks and dissertation procrastination, and as a result, I’m coming back with a vengeance.
I don’t know if you noticed, but I have a new look! While in my final term of Uni, the whole Pipdig scandal occurred and everyone appeared to jump ship. However, as I explained in an earlier post, I was too busy, it wasn’t a top priority and I wasn’t going to change anything until I had time for proper research. Now that my exams are over and I’ve had a breather, I was able to purchase and customise a theme that worked for me.
After reading an amazing blog post by Charlotte Nicole, listing a bunch of themes and sorting them into different budget categories, I decided on a Kotryna Bass theme. They offered free installation, so that part was great. Customising it definitely wasn’t as easy as customising a Pipdig theme is, but they were so lovely, responded to my shedload of questions ASAP, and now I’m beyond content with the final look. The theme itself isn’t all too different from my last one because I know what I like and I go with that, but it’s definitely levelled up.
My last theme was colourful, but I wanted the colours to pop more this time. So, cue the fancier feature images, the new featured categories feed at the top of my landing page, and other small things that make me a lot more content. I’m also trying harder with my photography and really sinking my teeth into trying new things. I’m excited to show all that off.
Though I consider myself a “lifestyle blog”, I cannot deny that I have based a large part of my site identity around being a student. Now, for the first time in 16 years, I am not that girl. So, I’ve had a long hard think about what my blog is about. With this site, I’ll still be me, but you’ll see whole stronger version of me.
There are some new series’ coming up that I’m super excited about, as well as a return of some old ones. The next few weeks are going to set up a lot of future content, so you’ll get a real taste of what I have plans. As well as this, I also have a new “adulting” section on my blog, exploring being 18+ without student bubble to fall back on. And, there’s a whole lot about to happen on my Youtube channel. Check it out if you like theatre or me…
I’ve also had a long hard think about my Instagram account. I’d love to treat it like a mini-snapshot of my blog, but I also liked how natural and unplanned my stories were. So, now I have a bunch of fancy highlights on my profile where you’ll find the professional looking, fancier stories with theatre reviews, restaurant tips, PR unboxings and more. However, I still plan to go on there and have a good old natter when I feel like it. I’ve got some cool things coming up Instagram-wise, so it would be cool if you checked out my account.
Although, I suppose a more accurate term would be an old me. In all honesty, I had factors in my life (pretty much since I started my blog until March this year) that had turned me into such a shell of myself. But those factors are gone for good, I feel more like myself than ever, and I’m excited to really get into that. Especially during such a transformative part of my life. So, I guess we really have change happening all around.
I don’t want to jinx it, but this may be the best stuff to come out of my blog yet. For the next few months, I have a chance to put my all into this. Hopefully, that will reflect in my work. I respect everyone that reads this, and I’m excited for everyone that sticks around for the journey. So stay tuned and get ready… There’s a lot more where this comes from.
What’s been going on with you for the last couple of months? Let me know in the comments!
Lots of love,
Jas xx

Congratulations on finishing Uni!! It must feel amazing to be able to put all your time into your blog now and I look forward to reading more in the 18+ without being a student section as I fall under that category!!
Thank you! Honestly I’m really excited to write more content that branches out of student life!

Welcome back! Congrats on finishing uni 🙂 I love the new look of your blog. I love the idea of an ‘adulting’ section. It’s definitely a way to keep things real because lets be honest; adulting isn’t always great haha.
Thank you so much! Yeah, I wanna share a real account of adulting haha

Balancing a blog and Uni work was always a bit difficult for me – of course Uni work always came first and was a top priority – once summer came rolling around though, and blogging became my number 1, it’s like full speed ahead!
I’m loving the mobile version of your theme and the colors – currently a bit lazy to walk all the way to my computer haha! How have I not been following you on Instagram! Going to have to sort that out now, I used to have one just for a snapshot of my blog + another one where mentioned blogging and a little bit of personal life here and there and in the end preferred to keep active only on the blogging/personal one as opposed to the snapshot one of my blog because it just seemed a bit ~eh~ as I kept bouncing back and forth between the accounts- felt like I had more creative freedom on the other one if that makes sense!
Yay YouTube content!!! I’m also hopping back on there too, so yay I’ll have to subscribe my way over!

(Firstly, thank you so much for the super detailed comment)
Yeah! I also find myself switching between my blog and person instagram accounts a lot, so by making my blog one more of a snapshot I’m hoping to differentiate more. I don’t know how we weren’t following eachother either! I’ve remedied that now though! I had the same issue with uni – especially this year. I’d build and grow so much over the summers and then it felt worthless by the time the school year rolled around again. But all of that is about to change!

Love the new look, how bright and colourful your pictures are! Welcome back, how does it feel finishing uni? Looking forward to see where your blog goes!

The whole Pipdig scandal got a ton of bloggers scrambling around. Kotryna Bass did a great job with her themes. I like that the irony is that Pipdig was trying to mess with KB but they ended up giving her free advertisement. I’m excited about the changes you have in store for this blog!
Nancy ♥ exquisitely.me
Yeah it really did, it was such a mess! I’m glad that it worked out well for Kotyna though! And thank you so much!

To be honest I did notice you were gone and was wondering but now we know! I understand being a Uni graduate that being at Uni, especially a campus one, is like living in a bubble and you become so detached from everything else. Good luck with your exam and dissertation results are what you want.
As for me well I’ve had training for my new job as a fitness instructor and has had a busier social and dating life than ever! Thanks for asking – and welcome back to the blogging world 🙂 Loving the new look to your blog too!

Awww nice to hear that my absence was noticed! Yeah, it can get really demanding in the last chunk of it all, but I’m so happy to be done! And thank you so much!

I really love your new theme! I got a Kotryna Bass theme too and I love it, I feel like it was a blessing in disguise as I feel though this theme suits me a lot more than my Pipdig one did. I’m really excited for your ‘adulting’ section, I feel like it’s not talked about enough with the whole experience of coming out of uni and trying to land on both feet. It was super scary for me and still feels scary over 3 years later sometimes! I can’t wait for you to come out of your shell and feel like yourself again, you deserve it girl.
Alice xx
Thanks so much Alice! Honestly, it really was a blessing in disguise – I think we’re all better off with out new themes!
