Urm… So, I don’t try to focus on stats too much but my blog somehow took off in November?! I don’t even know what happened but I am beyond grateful and I felt like I had to do a post about it because honestly I’m still a bit confused (in a super excited and happy way).
November has been an incredibly hectic month and I won’t lie, I barely survived it. Blogging and uni were a bit hard to balance last year, but November has seemed to be peak deadline season. That combined with more brand communication than usual, a couple of events (I did a post on one of them here), a new internship and a lot of travel between London and Bristol (Read my slow decline into craziness here) was very intense. However, despite the breakdowns and the brain shut down that I am only just recovering from, I am so grateful for where my blog has taken me.
This month I hit 3000 followers. 3000! I didn’t even register when I hit 1000! This month it felt like all the hard work and effort that I’ve put in over the last 11 months is really paying off and that’s such a rewarding feeling… However, it’s simultaneously terrifying. I don’t want to sound ungrateful, because trust me I am incredibly grateful, I can barely believe that this is happening. However, I never really expected to receive this much attention on my little blog. I started this because I wanted to write more; I wasn’t aware that in 11 months time I’d be in communication with brands, or attending events as a “blogger” or have a genuine readership… I’ve gotten way more out of this than I was expecting and I can’t wait to see where I go from here.
I feel like a lot of the attention I’ve received recently came from my racism post? As far as I can tell that was when things started skyrocketing… and honestly that makes me so happy. I was so worried about publishing that post and I wasn’t sure how people would react to it but it brought about the best responses. I love how it provoked a discussion and got people thinking, and honestly my only regret is that I had published it sooner because I’m so proud of what it’s accomplished. If any post was going to bring me more people I am so glad it was that one, because, I don’t know, it feels more substantial.
The blogging adventures that I’ve experienced in November have given me a real enthusiasm for blogging at the moment and I love it. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been very enthusiastic about my blog for the last couple of months, but now all I want to do is improve. I want to produce the best content I can, and push myself to do better, so I can’t wait to see where December takes me.
I won’t be doing Blogmas – mainly because I barely have time to post 3 times a week right now and my busyness is starting to take a toll on my mental health. However, Christmas is my favourite time of year so the current plan (don’t hold me to this) is to continue to post 3 times a week until Christmas, with each of those posts being vaguely associated with Christmas/holidays/festivities. Then, starting December 25th, I am going to daily blog for 12 days and take part in the 12 days of Blogging – a tribute to the first set of posts that I ever did on this blog. So look forward to all of that!
November has been unbelievable and I still have moments where I’m like “Wow, I did this. This is my creation and it’s actually becoming a thing.” and it’s indescribably rewarding. I can’t wait for December, I can’t wait for next year, honestly I just hope that I keep up this momentum because who knows what may happen?
Hope you’re all doing well – this was quite rambly but when are my posts not? How has your November been? Let me know in the comments! Oh also I have a giveaway going live on my Instagram on Saturday so stay tuned for that…
Lots of love,
Jas xx

Well done Jas! It is fantastic to hear all your hard work is paying off.
I was really impressed by your post about racism too. I guess it shows that sometimes it can be good to open up and be honest with the world.
Thanks so much! It’s so rewarding having my work pay off honestly. And I’m so glad you liked the post on racism.
